What is an affiliate?
An affiliate is kind of like a sales man but with a higher commission. When you are looking into affiliate programs you should look for ones that offer you a percentage above 20% otherwise it really isn?t worthwhile being involved with them since there are some costs even if it is only time. As with any rule there are exceptions for example Amazon.com.
The first affiliate network you should join are two that when combined have thousands of products to chose from. When you try to choose products or services you are going to sell think niche along with something you are interested in. If you are interested in a product or service you usually will do better.
To start if you haven?t already done so you will need an email account preferably a virtual account. You need this type of email to ward off any spam that may occur when submitting to search engines or if there is a company you are not familiar with that may sell your email address. So get yourself a gmail or yahoo email account. Try not to use hotmail since it blocks a number of emails you may get.
Step 1: Takes about 5 minutes ? go to and join: PayPal payment system for the internet.
Step 2: Takes about 30 to 60 seconds ? Go to and join: ClickBank
Step 3: Takes about 2 minutes ? Go to and Join: PayDotCom.com You will need a PayPal account to use this one since you are paid with either PayPal. Both programs ClickBank and PayDotCom.com are free to set up when you are an affiliate. Collectively there are 1,000?s of products ready to sell.
Step 4: Take about 10 – 15 minutes to take a look at ClickBank and PayDotCom.com to have some familiarity with them. This is a setup day only.
With the above there are no start up costs, no inventory to carry, no shipping, you receive bi-monthly checks (Clickbank) monthly PayPal payments from PayDotCom.
I personally like Clickbank since I consistently receive a check.
When you are looking for an affiliate program, try to find niche markets that interest you. You will enjoy making money and in this way since you will not become bored.
