Download Accelerator Plus ver 8.6 – The freebie version
I just tried Speed Bit’s Download Accelerator their claim is you can download up to 400% faster.
The program works with most browsers out their and works with the windows platform.
I really can’t say much about the program. It was highly recommended by a magazine site but my first impression was not all that great.
Might work well with someone on dialup I have high speed and the small downloads that I did while using the software didn’t seem to accelerate things very much.
I found that it took me longer to figure where to click than the time it took to download the file.
I must say I didn’t try it on one of those huge honkin’ files and quite possibly that is where it shines but I did uninstall the program.
The program also boasts added security and claims that it is the World’s Leading Download Manager 154 Million Users Can’t be Wrong! (Or can they)
The free program also has advertisements etc. and they flog the paid version.
So my estimate of the program is: Ta, Da – Two and 1/2 stars out of Five. I gave it the 1/2 because I didn’t try one of those huge files to give it a fair shake. Just check too they may want to hijack your search to their own that uses Google and of course they would reap the benefits I am sure.
Why not give it a fair shake yourself?
